Polyamide 6.12 (PA 6.12) is very similar to PA 6.10 and offers comparable mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties to the more affordable PA6. However, PA 6.12 absorbs significantly less moisture and has better barrier properties. This material has typical polyamide properties such as wear and impact resistance as well as chemical resistance. In addition, it impresses with excellent properties regarding permeability, moisture absorption, and dimensional stability. Typical applications include fluid pipes, toothbrush bristles, and precision seals. PA 6.12 is particularly resistant to chemicals such as oils, fats, aliphatic hydrocarbons, and alkaline substances. In reinforced form, PA 6.12 offers good mechanical properties comparable to those of PA6. Notably, it has the ability to recover well after bending under humid conditions, making it ideal for use in brush materials.
