Polyamide 11 (PA11), derived from renewable sources such as castor oil, impresses with its outstanding mechanical properties. It has a modulus of elasticity ranging from 1200 MPa to 200 MPa and maintains excellent impact resistance at low temperatures even without elastomer additives. Its excellent chemical resistance, high flexibility, and low permeability to gases and hydrocarbons make it an ideal choice for applications in aggressive environments. Thanks to the high content of -CH2- and -CONH- groups, polyamide 11 (PA11) absorbs very little water, resulting in good dimensional stability. The wide range of available polyamide 11 grades enables its use in various applications, from profile extrusion and thermoforming to injection molding.
