Polyamide 6.10 (PA 6.10)

Polyamide 6.10 (PA 6.10)

Polyamide 6.10 (PA 6.10) offers similar mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties to the more affordable PA 6, but with significantly lower moisture absorption. This material is used for components whose high requirements justify the higher price. Polyamide 6.10 (PA 6.10) is often preferred because of its high impact resistance, chemical resistance, and dimensional stability under humid conditions. Typical applications include precision bearings, gears, and brush fibers.

Polyamide 6.10 (PA 6.10) is highly resistant to oils, fats, aliphatic hydrocarbons, and alkaline substances. As with all polyamides, however, there is no resistance to acids and chlorinated hydrocarbons; chlorinated salts can cause stress cracks. The mechanical properties are very similar to those of PA6, but the lower moisture absorption positively influences dimensional stability, making the material more resistant to cold deformation.
